This is a pretty decent foundation that I think some of you might like to try, it’s a free sample of Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation. This is Tarte’s long lasting 12 hour foundation. Your sample comes in a generous card with 5 different shade samples to try out. Each blister comes with 0.016 fl oz of foundation. Including:
- Fair-Light Honey
- Light Neutral
- Light-Medium Sand
- Medium Honey
- Tan Honey
When I tried my sample, I applied the Light-Medium Sand hoping that would be closer to my skin tone. After applying it, I realized that it was a little too dark for my natural tone, so I washed it off and used the Light Neutral. This one is much closer but maybe a little too light. I stuck with it anyways. I know I should have used one of my foundation brushes to apply it, but for some reason I couldn’t find it so I used my crummy Benefit Foundation Brush (I soooo hate the bristles on this brush). So the difficulties I had, I should probably blame it on the brush that I was using 🙁 .
I found Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation to be a little too heavy. I just felt like my skin couldn’t breath. I did manage to keep it on for a good 8 hours before I removed it. I even did a light workout with it on. I did have to touch it up just a bit half way through the day. Even though it lasted a long time, I wasn’t overly impressed by it, most of my foundations last anywhere from 6 to 10 hours depending on a lot of factors. I also found that it became a little dry and cakey looking.
I just wish I had used a better brush to apply this free sample of Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation, I think my experience may have been different. Despite my experience, you might still want to give it a try but hopefully with a better brush 😉

Summary
Overall, this foundation works well. It lasts for a good part of the day, and I sometimes get a little oily around my nose area so that was great. It does have a grit look to it, but you definitely don't feel it on your skin. After you apply it, it feels silky smooth like a powder. It does seem to dry a little fast so blending takes a couple tries to perfect, but after you do it should be fine.

Amazonian is so amazing. I have combination skin and am acne prone. Most foundations irritate my skin or make me break out but this is wonderful. Thank you so much !!! 🙂
I love that this is full coverage, long wearing, flawless looking, waterproof, and would be great especially for anyone who has oily acne prone skin. The coverage of this is just truly amazing! I usually don’t really need to have this much coverage with my foundation, I prefer a light to medium coverage, but for my “not-so-good” skin days this is a great option!

I had problems with this foundation covering, and staying. Just a couple of hours later, it partially came off, exposing my problem areas. My skin isn’t overly oily, I just don’t understand how it could have come off?
thank you 🙂
I love Amazonian foundation. It’s the best I’ve ever tried.
This foundation seems to emphasize the little peach fuzz on the side of my face. But, it does have a great coverage without looking too cakey or too heavy. Not bad… but not the best.
I really liked the coverage of this foundation ,but stopped using it because it looks very oily on my skin. I think it would work better on dry or combination skin .
thanks
